1) description a color system similar to FILT shows heat transfer rate. the color system is as follows: blue-no transfer, green-1/2 transfer rate(similar to quartz, but smoother), yellow-transfer same as active HSWC, red-twice as fast. must be changed with HEAT/COOL tools.(subject to change) using these tools only changes the color/transfer rate, no effect on temperature displayed in HUD.
2) why we should have it/uses similar uses as current insulation, but with variable tranfer
can be very useful in nuclear reactors and wire insulation. possible use: delayed transfer can allow a reactor to heat up before dumping heat to a generator section or vary how fast a wire heats something up
3) properties default temp is 22, default color yellow.
will edit as user suggestions come in original idea: liquid/gas insulation, see section one just movable INSL
Problem: Heat conductivity goes through the element. If you changed it with HEAT/COOL, it would just change to whatever temperature the passing particles were, since the HEAT/COOl tools only affect temp, not any other variable (unless the variable is stored with a number from another variable, such as WIFI)
Point being, in case that was illegible, it cannot work.
i was thinking of WIFI when I typed that part. and if you have an idea of getting this to work, do tell. if it turns out to be solidly impossible, oh well, its just another idea that will quickly fall into the depths of this forum never to be seen again.
so maybe a different method of changing transfer state?
... Just make it solid, and just make it deal with heat.
There is already an element called delay that is going to be implemented that will have variable spark-traveling speeds I like the variable heat traveling speed thing... but why does it have to be a liquid or a gas? it would be very annoying
@fsjd HSWC transfers almost at current max speed aka 255. Wiki: 255 is fastest, 0 is slowest. At 0 speed, heat does not conduct. At 255, it conducts instantly.
