A necro depends largely on post content. Let's say somebody was trying to find a way to run powder toy on Minix, but couldn't get it working. Another user, a month later, has the same problem but finds that if you add a few options when compiling, it will work. In this case it shouldn't be a problem to necro the thread.

On the other hand, if somebody digs up a thread suggesting brick from before it was an element and starts insulting the OP for suggesting something that already exist, a necro is a problem. Same goes for an otherwise useless post, like digging up a month old bomb thread and saying "LOL COOL EXPLOSION, LOOK AT MY BOMB!".
