Compiled, but no run

    So I finally got it set up so I can compile. YAY!
    I run it. It complains that it can't find such and such .dll
    I rename one of the misnamed .dll's
    it runs for a bit longer this time, but it says

    Cannot find entry point DecodePointer in KERNEL32.DLL

    so I'm like AW CRAP and I add a replacement KERNEL32.DLL in the folder
    and it still doesn't work. so I would like to know:
    am I doing something wrong with the compile/link or what (unlikely since Dwarf Fortress gave the same error)
    or is my computer doomed?

    what OS are you on.
    also other computer specs

    also, that is not a 'can't find *.dll' error, it is finding it just fine, its just that it is incompatible. most likely an external problem (not powder toy).
