I am just wondering or rather suggesting , why don't we use a different program to make the powder toy like Java script or C++ or any other one that popular games use
Download the source, open all the files, stare at the surprising amount of code, wet yourself at the thought of rewriting all of that in a different language and understand why it hasn't been done.
Basically yeah. Changing the code medium would take a lot of work, and it's a fairly hefty program. Even Simon doesn't know how deep the depths of the program go, metaphorically speaking.
Powder Toy was written by a dude who designs CPU chips. For fun. But not even the original author could probably be convinced to code the whole thing into another language entirely.
Also, the code for TPT is C I think, which isn't far from being C++. So no need to worry.
I don't know enough about code to know if there is a 'shorter' code but if it had been a good idea, I'm sure Simon or someone else would have done it back when it was easier.
but instead of putting all the work for one person we could just make it to a group of volunteers each has to make a peice of the coding then compile all on to one program.
actually yeah it is hard but in teams it would be easier.
