Wait, isn't quartz a piezoelectric mineral anyways? (quartz vibrates when a current is passed through it and generates an electrical current when pressure is applied)
@The-Con(View Post) yeah, that's how electric watches work. The vibrations produced through the piezoelectric effect are extremely regular, occurring at a very precise frequency.
@rrusciguy(View Post) Well now I know something else... Chemistry teachers are not very specific so they leave us to assumptions. On topic: Growing quartz isn't very realistic though... Most of the sand we see at the beach is quartz, and it doesn't grow. Either way, it doesn't effect me, but it does effect those with broken saves.
