Here are my thoughts on the Powder Toy - Version 36.
Maybe we should make a thread that says "Thoughts on Version __" for each version.
Anyways, I love the new menu design. It's great that the selected menu stays in position and does not disappear. It is a great idea. It's not exactly the "pin the menus on the bottom" suggestion, but it is probably just as good.
NEW ELEMENTS: It's great to see Glass and Sand as elements; I cannot wait to start implementing them in my creations. See, Dust can be considered similar to Sand, but I find that Dust is so much easier to catch on fire. The PSCN and NSCN return is great, as I saw that some people really wanted them back. I'm not too sure what I wanna do with them, but I'm sure I'll figure something out. The new metals that only work at certain temperatures = very smart. Once again, I don't know what I'll do with them, but I am sure that some genius will make something awesome with it.
OTHER: The new voting system is very nice, it will be great. I'm also happy to see that you cannot self vote! Very good addition.
OVERALL: This was a very important update for users of the Powder Toy; I love it. There were many new things added, better layout, and more options with the online mode. Overall, very very impressed.
SUGGESTIONS FOR NEXT TIME: I only have a few. Firstly, have an option to switch between menu types, as some people (unlike me) will hate the new menu, while others will hate the old menu. It would be awesome to be able to toggle through each menu.
I would also suggest adding another wall soonish, as there is a wall I would love to see (Wall = Allows gases, blocks everything else).
Post your comments at what you think about Version 36!
You have missed out that photons are now at 920 degrees from spawning instead of 22. I like the new menu system and enjoy the addition of new elements. Keep bringing them in Simon ;)
don't get me wrong, the concept of the temperature sensitive conductors is awesome, however are they fully functional? they seem to conduct at any temperature regardless of their description...
And I'm totally with Andrewrox in that i look forward to new walls, specifically gas permeable, and (sub-atomic?) neutron and photon permeable walls. Another concept is selectively non-permeable walls, ones that will allow every thing but liquids, solids ect, instead of the ones that only allow one state of matter to pass
kamikai I try to keep the descriptions short, but there's a lot more to the temperature sensitive ones than I can describe in a short sentence. They only transfer current to PSCN and NSCN, they will conduct from NSCN regardless of whether the conditions are met or not, whereas the conditions have to be met to conduct from PSCN.
