    I have one question.

How can I go about learning the concepts behind elaborate creations such as calculators or text displaying systems. I really want to gain some in depth knowledge concerning how these things work and in particular, how calculators function and how systems such as key code combination locks, are able to retain memory of a certain, correct code.

Are there any online sources of knowledge I can take a look at, or am I going to have to either talk to the creators, or attempt to decipher the systems through close analasis.

    Cheers in advance.

just experiment with what works and what doesn't, trial and error.
Just look at other peoples saves, i am not saying copy them, just use them as concepts, thats what i do.

Yeah that is what I supposed I would have to do. I just can't seem to get my head around the storing memory concepts. The powder toy is weird this way, there really arent to many sources to learn from. There should be, it is a really amazing program. Thanks.

The storing memory concept is very complex. Start by making simple logic gates and systems. Once you get the hand of logic components start to combine them. Just keep trying new stuff, and after a while revisit a save that uses memory.

If you did not know this already, you have to use pixel size wires and components to create any simple or complex logic system.

It does take a while to learn. You can mostly work out what do do through knowing how sparks conduct on different elements

If you want to learn, take a look at this link, and also learn about logic gates(wikipedia is a pretty good source), then once you understand those, you can start learning about logic networks on the internet.

Thanks alot for the help. Yeah I figured that you have to zoom in and do everything pixel by pixel, I always have done it like that.

    Alexthesax: Link appreciated, thanks mate.

Also guys, if anyone can provide me a link to a document explaining the various relationships between the different conductors/semi - conductors/ metals ect, it would be appreciated.

That link I posted should explain everything, that is how it all works.
