I'm making a distiller and electrolysis experiment where it distills the water then puts it through electrolysis, but when I try it somehow breaks the iron into broken metal like it does with salt.
But no salt is able to get through! At least, none that I can see. Does anyone know what's going on and how I can make this save work better?

Freezing WTRV into ice then melting gives water, not distilled water. Distilled water is the only type of water that can be electrolysed without breaking the iron.

So you would probably need to use a cooling method that doesn't freeze the water.

Iron is only supposed to rust with salt...

I see this now. Result of stupid mo...I mean result of poor cod...I mean the result of a small mistake that mods are in no way responsible for.
