High speed electrons

I made something that shot high speed electrons into glass to generate sparks, and when I activated it, the electrons went through the glass. I was wondering whether this is suppost to occur and represent quantum tunneling, or if this is a glitch. Specificaly, it was a single pixil layer of glass and the electrons had been accelerated to ultra-relativistic speeds.

Usually particles can pass through 1px thick walls if quick enough,e.g. make a 1px thick layer of glass andput a thin piece of sand above it, some will go through

    Ok, thanks!

Edit: I will likely have more questions later, but I'm trying not to spam them, so I will just experiment for now untill later.
