Bug Report: Sound cachofany is default

The new version 98.1 has added sound to an anoying degree, it defaults to 100 sounds max, and it won't take a new value like 1, 0, or anything else and thier is no option to turn it off, who thought spaming a bunch of voice recordings over and over agian was a good idea in a stable branch?

Logic gates get permanly shot down but not this? What joke is this?

If you need sounds boil water, or light a campfire or somthing (for boiling and fire events) not voice recordings, and only play a few sounds at a time, not 100, and while your at it you should add a volume slider or somthing to control the volume of certian types of sounds, with a master volume to evenly and quickly limit how loud they can be overall, with each sound type being a relitive percentige of the master volume.

Thanks for reaching out about the new sound effects in version 98.1! We know it can be a big adjustment to have a whole new soundscape in The Powder Toy.

We hear you loud and clear about wanting more control over the audio experience. While there isn't a dedicated volume slider in this initial update, your feedback is incredibly valuable. A volume control for specific sound types and an overall master volume are fantastic suggestions, and we'll definitely be considering them for future DLCs at a premium price point.

In the meantime, you can completely mute your system or use your device's volume controls to adjust the sound level to your preference. You may also pay 20 Powdercoins to further personalize your sound experience in-game.

We agree that well-placed sound effects can enhance immersion, and that's what we were aiming for with the addition of fire crackles, explosions, and water sounds. We're open to exploring alternative approaches like the ones you mentioned, focusing on specific events rather than constant sounds.

Thanks again for your detailed feedback! It helps us shape The Powder Toy into an even more enjoyable experience for everyone.

Powdercoins were previously introduced into The Powder Toy as a new experience for both begineers and experienced users alike to enjoy the game in a totally different way!

They allowed users to gain a sense of achievement and accomplishment by earning Powdercoins and unlocking features along the way. We originally released this feature for early testing on April 1st a few years ago, also known as April Fool's Day.

We are currently testing the re-introduction of Powdercoins again on the very same day we introduced the original version. This time we really wanted users to gain that sense of accomplishment by linking the re-introduction to this wonderful new dimmension of sound! While you cannot currently earn Powdercoins, we will be sure to follow up on this question in future updates. Currently we plan to release this next patch by April 1, 2025 to keep with tradition.

Forthur more I would avoid making the sound events pixel based, instead I would recomend using the number of pixels boiling or on fire, to set the volume via a multiplyier to avoid multiple conflicting sound recordings playing on top of on another. In other words more fire equals a louder fire sound, not more of them.

Big words for someone that is responding to a bug report when devs are supposodly looking for feedback and tips to make the immursion work better, and I'm not hear to bootlick for the devs, i'm not muting my pc to avoid a brain melting headache when I actually use my pc for different things simotanisly like flight sims(like right now), and watching and lisening to a video(like right now) and lissen to music at night, a alarm clock, or what ever I want to use my new laptop for that I bothered to buy with my money and hardwork so I could have better Flightear and TPT experince, and to actually clean the cpu/gpu fan and heatsink properly.

And don't worry I fixed the cacahfany problem I pulled the prior version out of my backups I actually make every morning automatcly to avoid data loss, and stuff like this.

April fools day stopped being funny on the internet 10 years ago buddy, grow up and leave the joke out of computer software, that stupid joke almost made powder toy unusable for me and as someone you uses this software at least 24 hours a week in the background alone to test things long term. I failed to be funny in any way what so ever, worse I actually have been wanting to have sound effects in powder toy for the past year now, and now I am almost dreading it's araival now, as well as furture updates to this game.

And if the voice lines were saying "april fools" then making the max limit be 100 completly ruinded the joke
