EMP'S

I have thought we could have an emp thing that when you click a circle (that is like cold flame colour and has a strong glow but the actual circle is thin and the glow is strong) witch starts from the cursor and keeps going outwards and when it hits metal it causes a spark but it doesn't bounce of it but keeps going and then just disappears of the page.
This the first ever idea I have thought of and have searched the forums and haven't found anything on it.
I don't know an exact use so I am hoping you can think of some. Recently the limit of elements has being increased so please don't say we shouldn't put it in the powder toy because I cant think of a use.
I don't know much about emp's so had a quick look on wikipedia and I read about magnetic fields which I know has bean rejected before so we don't have to have the emp have anything to do with magnetic fields. Also I might be wrong on the whole idea on emps but powder toy isn't a simulation as stated by some irc's so we could still implement it.

Thanks for any suggestions or your thoughts on it.

I assume you're QUITE young so I'll lay it out for you. First of all here are some points, voltage is a measurement of electric energy per unit charge between two points. If this is higher than an electronic component can handle, it will burn out. There is an ambient charge in the atmosphere although it is quite small.

Now onto explaining EMPs. EMP stands for electromagnetic pulse, which is when a short, but EXTREMELY powerful burst of energy is released into an area, raising the ambient voltage in that area GREATLY. When this happens, the voltage in the air flows into electronic components, destroying them by putting too much voltage into them. Although it may not destroy all components it will destroy enough that the device will be disabled until it is fixed, which is unlikely to be possible. If the pulse is weaker, it may just shut down the device, which will require to be rebooted/turned back on.

I think what your suggestion is EXTREMELY uneducated and I can tell you know about as much about what you're talking about as my cat. But there is some hidden merit here. NO an element that explodes when clicked will NOT happen, however the idea of a powdered element that transfers current electronics is not bad, basically powdered battery. That is not actually that bad of an idea, in fact I support it. If anyone wishes to promote this feel free, but I don't think this kid's idea has much else available to scrounge from it.

On a last note, Grammar Nazi says "EMP is fucking capitilized because it is an acronym!".

I dont see any use. But an EMP is a large explosion. You could have an element that reacts with fire to explode.

Yeah I'm only 12 going onto 13 soon,I am into science quite a bit and use powder toy almost every day.
cooldaddy96 That's quite a good idea having something the explodes when fire touches it.I don't know if its possible but I still like the idea of the circle going outwards through metal and causing a spark and the thing is it doesn't need to be an emp it can be something like electric shock (I know they don't exist but it's the powder toy).

EMP could be useful as a disabler... Hmmm....

Also, I made a "powered" battery and INST should give a similar function.

I didn't read all of the comments above, so don't be mad if you said the. EMP stand for Electromagnetic Pulse.
    I actually already knew that.
Anyway that seems like a cool idea.
EDIT: Cr15py I just saw you put that. Sorry.

i shall do some sort of emp thing, it will make an invisible explosion (except in heat view that sparks all it tuched makig the spark cut out an old one or just cover the thing!

EMP's could be a by product of a Nuclear reaction that cannot permeate certain materials like Metal or Diamond where a nuclear reaction is taking place. If the metal were to liquefy like in a bomb then it would release like pressure waves and dissipate afterword

Thanks for everyone's suggestions.I shall look forward to your next mod yew101,I don't want to sound greedy but could you give the visual effect with the blue glow.

Maybe Broken Metal could factor in to this...
