The order to fire.

One simple order. Could have been thought as nothing to an unsuspecting crew. I mean, who wouldn't? If there is a line of ships, all of them with the same arnament as you, but more. One shot could land as a disaster to you. It would be better if you fire first.

Reactors. Kind of need them. If you want to be able to fly, protect yourself, live, or even fire your guns... You need something that can make alot of power. Only drawback is that you could explode if your reactor is damaged.

Weapons. The single most important system to protect yourself. You could have great armour, except that pesky ships will not leave you, and eventually destroy you.

Convoy. A way for many weak ships to be stronger. You could have them fly in formation or dock them so that you can save fuel by using one engine. Only issue is that docking takes a lot of power. You need a central ship to generate power for docking all of the other ships.

Wrong place, wrong time. You say the order to fire. One weakness in a convy has to have a bigger reactor somewhere. So you order your weapons to fire, and the convoy explodes.
