The ??????? are the inhabitants of planet-sized ships, called Riftroamers. They use a mini-black hole and high amounts of energy to phase the Riftroamer into the Rift, a chaotic dimension between realities. They use the Rift to phase into other realities where the rules of space and time are altered. The ??????? then send billions of Archbishops to destroy nearby planets and suns to create new extensions and citizens who will then help in assimilating other realities. However, due to the case of Riftroamers appearing every single time within 100 lightyears near earth, or at least an analogue of it, many Riftroamers now harbor many exotic technologies and converted species. It is said that Riftroamers preserve the cultures of the counquered, which could derive from variants of races known in fictional media, leading to most Riftroamers being extremely adept in arcane sorcery and magic.
