Forgive me if this has been asked before (I figure it probably has), but I was recently "inspired," you could say, after watching a Twitch stream. Basically, chat and stream were talking about games they used to play, and somehow Powder came up, which really surprised me. Yeah, over the years a lot of people have played Powder, but I honestly didn't expect random people in a twitch vtuber stream (sorry) to know about the game.
Then I thought about how in high school, I became friends with some people, who I later found out had actually seen my front page saves before, before we ever even knew each other (since we went to different schools before high school).
So it seems like Powder has some sort of reach, but as far as I know (though I could be very wrong) I don't think Powder was ever like, advertised or had an official release?
For me, I found the game randomly installed on the computers in my elementary school, so that's how me and my friends back then found the game.
Assuming I'm right about Powder being like an "underground game," I'm curious to hear about how you find the game? Was it also randomly installed on school computers for you? Is that how the game has somehow proliferated? Or was there something else?
It would be embarrassing if I was wrong and Powder was advertised, making this all moot...
I highly doubt the game was advertised. I think I found it because I was playing Algodoo a while ago, and from that and some searching, I found this, though I don't know exactly when. It was likely a few months now than a year ago. I think the way most people discovered it was by people they knew telling them about it.
