I have created a save that demonstrates the stupidest means of space travel possible.  Here it is below:

The volcano burns all the planet's oxygen like it's supposed to and I made a set of portals designed to keep the oxygen out of the volcano so it doesn't burn too soon.  But to make it look like the planet is actually moving, the fire need to last longer outside the volcano to look like a more realistic tail of flaming exhaust.  It barely manages to make it a few pixels out of the volcano.
