Moving solids are impossible, due to TPT would have to be rewritten (I believe in a new code), plus a new database. Not going to happen, anytime soon. About the rope/stick thing, I don't know, but it's best for dev/moderator to answer that.

by the rope/stick thing im talking about something like the joint in the online powder game or whatever its called http://dan-ball.jp/javagame/dust2/

edit: i think moving solids might be possible by just connecting particles together. They might not be able to roll  very well if at all but someone (definitely not me) might be able to code somethig like that or maybe fix the ball in jacob's mod

"just connecting particles together" is easier said than done. How the game engine works is by updating particle order scanning from top left to bottom right. Meaning any solid created would update differently by a fraction slower toward the bottom right than the top right

Skylark made a bodgy attempt at moving solids, but there were some awkward issues that could not be fixed without a huge rework of the engine. Which would result in a lot of saves breaking. Basically, all of them. The game was never intended nor considered for moving solids of any kind.

I'm going to lock this thread because the suggestion is a well-known rejected idea

you couldn't make 2 particles stay next to each other at all times without it going slower in the corner?

edit: i didn't mean moving solids! it was the other guy who mentioned it

    how does soap work then?
