Besides looking cool and being useful for other more arcane reasons, Life particles can be used to cool other objects down. Life particles ignore the presence of other particles when doing checks in a sense, though not exactly (it takes some experimentation.)

But as a result, if you can find a way to make dormant life particles touch a solid surface, they'll have a permanent cooling effect.
Conversely, if you can make active oscillators touch other particles without being broken, they'll have a permanent heating effect. ^^
