As some the people of powder toy might know, this glorious day is Thanksgiving! The day for turkey, corn, cornbread, cranberry sauce, and just lots of food in general (I like food).
If you live somewhere where you guys/gals don't celebrate Thanksgiving, let me give you a little background.
(If I got my details wrong, I'm using my own memory)
Once, there was a country, England. It was ruled by a tyrranical(mean and like a t-rex. JK, but kind of in a way) ruler (Who? IDK :L) who made it so everybody had to follow one religion/belief and do EVERYTHING he said. If you did not, you probably would be punished for treason (not obeying the king's command=treason) and, well, sucks for you ;) .
Later, a group of people who wanted to worship and do what they wanted formed a group, called the Pilgrims. They got/built(?) a ship called the Mayflower, and sailed toward North America. They landed around what is now Massachusetts (Dictionary.com ;)
There, they met some Native Americans/American "Indians". One of them was named Squanto. Squanto taught them how to grow corn and do agricultural things.
One day, they decided to hold a great feast, and so it was called "Thanksgiving". (Probably because to thank the Native Americans and Squanto)
So, have a happy Thanksgiving everybody, and other's, you can still celebrate! Just tell your parents (a little abrupt, and the chances are low they will accept) and maybe buy lots of ingredients and you can have a great Thanksgiving feast! You don't need a turkey, anything will work!
So, I hope you all have a nice and wonderful Thanksgiving! (I hope I didn't offend any English people, just so you know guys I think this took place around the 1600-1800's, I don't remember. But around that time.)
Typical Xetalim ;)
no. What makes you think that?
Is it just the way I put things?
Ah,Thanksgiving, where I get to spent time with people whose first names I have no clue are,sit down, and eat salty corn taking a liter of water to remedy the taste, cold mashed potatos still needing 4 minutes of microwave time, and best of all, burnt turkey breaking my jaws. All this, while enjoying a soap opera from a world away and listening to my dad rant about Obamacare in broken English.
And then comes Black Friday.
Tell the indians that.
Sooner or later, TPT is going to get run over by you guys.....
:P
Can someone please lock this thread? I don't understand why we can't lock our own threads....
I actually thought if getting it locked before you guys came, but.....
