A new idea maybe for powder toy would be if it had something like a follow button or subscribe button. When you subscribe to someone, you will be alerted weekly on new saves the player made. If the player made none, it would say, "No new saves made" It would also show any old saves they updated. Or you they could make it so that you aren't alerted but that there is a button next to the favorite button and you click it and it would got to the page to inform you of updates and new saves. This way it wouldn't be as hard to add compared to being alerted weekly, which would probably be quite a nuisance to add. I'm not even sure if being alerted is possible, with the exception of private messages. Players would know if people actually see there saves and would be happy with their subscriber count if they had a substantial amount of subscribers. It would be like votes, if there is a high enough amount, it will make you happy. And there's no real way to troll the subscriber count unless people unsubbed or someone hacked into their accounts and unsubbed. But then the people hacked would just keep subscribing back, driving the troll crazy. Also, it might be helpful to have a "Vote up all saves" button, you would press it, it would say "Prepare for lag and dont exit out, If you have a bad computer dont press ok." Some people are filled to the brim with good saves and its annoying to vote up each save individually. I hope these things are added in the next update! Thank you for reading! :D Please post what you think about these ideas (and make sure the reactions are seperate, like "I like this but not that, not just "I don't like this", otherwise it will be perceived that you don't like both ideas. I just figured out another great idea i hope someone makes true cuz it will help the whole of the tpt community. TPT suffers from many copiers, copying things without permission in hopes to get votes. My way of solving this is that in the next update publishing a save from someone else is banned. Nobody will have the option to publish someone elses save, cuz the option won't exist! The only ones allowed to copy are people that are given permission. You can be given premission to copy and mod by having the maker of the save press this button that says "Give permission" Then there will be a sign that says "To whom:" then type: example: user:schneumer and i will be granted permission to copy and mod this. This will reduce the amount of copied saves by a substantial amount, but copying will still exist, but just a fraction will exist from then on. I really hope this "no copy" feature won't be too hard to add and that is gets put in the next update! Thanks for reading! :D
I don't see the point of being informed if a subscriber sees your save, wouldn't it make much more sense to allow the subscriber to be informed when the the person they subscribed to releases a new save?
Well, I guess I don't see any reason why not to add this besides lack of time/other priorities/etc. Now to bug a developer until they give into my whining and add it.
lol thanks! :D But be careful of a ban....
Subscriptions - have been discussed several times in the past. It's up to Simon, since ideally he would need to do some work on the server. If we tried to do subscriptions client side, it would be inefficient and cause more load on the server than necessary. One of the more recent relevant threads: http://tpt.io/.251694 , obvious search terms like "subscribe" "subscriptions" or "follow" should give you other threads.
There's not going to be a "Vote up all saves" button, for the same reason as there isn't a vote button on the website and there isn't going to be a "vote down all saves" button. A vote is for a particular save, not the general quality of someone's saves. Therefore before voting, you should actually open the save and look at the contents and decide whether it deserves an upvote.
"no copy" feature - no. This has been discussed many times before, and the answer has always been no. If you're worried about your work being copied, there isn't really a better way of dealing with it than keeping an eye on recent saves and using the report button. Any client-side restrictions would be trivial to get round, and would just be an annoyance rather than an effective means of preventing copying.
so there would be a riot? and the only one that might be made is the subscription one? awww... uhhh....i just saw an account that said he was burningkid101, the guy who got perma-banned. The username is Cracking.......for proof look at id:1248137 The account has no saves though...
