    really useful for now.. both as deco layer and also for use with piston (to make cooler structures).

    You don't want to tell us what it's supposed to do? Like this:

    The placeholder element is one that lets any other element pass through it. It serves as decoration without obstructing the rest of the save.

    Is that what you want?

    There are easy alternatives, such as FILT or DMND for both pistons and deco usage.

    Would it be an other element layer overall, allowing it as an 'overlay' across the screen?
    That'd probably need a new layer for the elements and deco, plus a lot of re-coding to make it work.

    How can it pass elements through while pushing them with PSTN?
    What about PSTN that's under placeholders?

    How about placeholders only exist where decorations have been drawn over empty space?
