I have edited my post to clear a few things out. Any text in italics has been added.
Fact: When a base mixes with an acid, a salt is formed.
Idea: Soap (a base) could mix with acid to form salt.
Support:
- makes soap more useful
- adds a bit more realism to the game
- easy to incorporate
- create cool chemial reactions
Additions (things that would happen normally in this type of chemical reaction and could easily be included in powder toy to make the reaction cooler):
- when being mixed water would be formed (it would evaporate to form a cloud of vapour, because of the intense heat created by the reaction)
- when being mixed C02 would be formed (In smaller amounts than the water vapour)
- the reaction would create heat and pressure
- In some cases other gases could be formed, like hydrogen and caustic gas. This happens very rarely in reality and could create clouds of fire. (because hydrogen is flammable) This could result in a cool explosion.
I didn't want to include these other byproducts (hydrogen, C02 or caustic gas), because it can get very complicated for the person who will be coding this. I did this because, i knew that someone would ask about C02, hydrogen or causic gas. I hope this clears a few things out :)
I like the sound of this.

In reality acids don't react with salts. (they react with sulphites.) You are right that in TPT the acid would eat the salt, so we would have to change salt from being something which dissloves in acid to being an object which can resist it.
