Greetings, earthlings! this is my first post on these forums.
So, I was trying to make a rocket the other day, and it worked. it made a steady stream of fire come out a nozzle for about 10 seconds. And I thought, hey, what if the rocket could actually take off? The metal it was made of would have to be affected by physics and work as one entity. So, my idea is to have some kind of tool that would let you select a chunk of solid material (you could easy select it by clicking on it, and the entire thing would be selected, or complex select it by clicking on each individual part) and convert it into an object with physical properties. They would still have the properties of the solid(s) they were made of, so you could destroy them. Physical properties in stamped items could be turned on/off before you place them. In addition, there could be joints, which would allow physical solids to rotate, or be attatched to other physical solids. Just think of the possibilities it would open up to builders like functioning claw arms, buildings made out of individual bricks, bullets and hammers for guns, or conveyer belts.
I lack the knowledge to make a mod for this (I'm 13) but if this were implemented into the game or someone made a mod of it, that would be amazing.
tell me what you think :)
It is one mod with one moving solid. Jacob1's mod. It is too hard to make in the real game and it will lag (very much). And search in the forums before you post something, this have been suggested many, many times.
So the answere is no, but it would be fun if it was possible without lag :)
the name "the powder toy" is becoming more and more meaningless. at the moment powders are becoming problems, not tools, as elements break. Creating things such as large, multipixel objects will make the powder toy even less like the name states - imagine the saves that contain no or few single-pixel particles. The powder toy is a sandbox game, but it is not limitless, and the money that the powder toy gets through that one advert at the top of the page must be spent on servers and infistructure - I don't see a way that the powder toy can employ people, which would be the best way of making the moving solids. At the moment I can't see a place for this idea - but it is still a good one, and one that is extrememly popular.
