This script will replace the conversations function with the IRC box. Untick the script to get into conversations.
(Click the "How do I use this?" button straight under the install button in the top right corner for details!)
Use GreaseMonkey or Scriptish to load this user-script into Firefox. Other stuff is available for Chrome. Opera is a hassle and IE will not work.
