    I have the source for 42.0 beta, and with the official version I can get speeds of 60fps sometimes. How come my mod of it is limited to 40? And is there a way to increase this?

    you probably compiled in debug mode. It makes it a lot slower.

    how do I compile in 'release mode', I presume?

    hit the drop down box that says debug and change it to release.
