    tpt.selectedl is the menu item you have selected (DUST,PUMP, any other particle type).
    It has nothing to do with particles on screen.

    If you want to find the particle under the mouse, use the mouse location in the get_property, tpt.get_property("tmp",tpt.mousex,tpt.mousey)
     should work.
