Yeah, thats right. If there is anything I missed please let me know. Sadly, I doubt anyone will code such an idea due to the sheer complexity required.
yeah
Mud could be a ceramic!
@ROHANman, well, infamous from school I do enjoy looking into making things work. Personally I too would like to move from Java, C, C# and 'constructed machine languages' into the C++ and Lua stuff that runs behind TPT for my own projects. Anyways, I am saying that once I've set up a decent IDE and TPT modding work environment I would be very happy to look into how to program this feature. And yes, things like saplings that need water, mud and topsoil with some form of liquid and nutrient diffusion, randomized trunk growth and producton according to 'species' and environment. I could imagine programming the code that creates the behaviour of a moving slug. You start with a 'core' organism that grows accordingly to its 'genetic code.' And yes I am quite aware of how these to some extent would fit together into a working program. Something like a "ROHAN Life and Ecosystems Mod."
And @ISproductions, what do you mean for 'frog to prince?' Or just not anything too drastic. Pretty much what I'd find cool is just having a mod where water not supports chemical content in which based on the chemical content in it (dissolvable powders included in the mod plus different air chemical content mechanics) a new organism root may spawn, first performing simple behaviours and gradually mutations cause the fittest to be the surviving species amidst various iterations and variants of the previous generations.
I am actualy astounded! I would love to help, but I don't know coding well enough. Your paragraphs pretty much summed up my vision for a mod, and prehaps even excedded it. The fact that you seem to know how to make it all work...*panties drop* I am really look forward to seeing this.
@ROHANman. Well, we shall see. I haven't programmed a mod before but quite verily can and for many a long time have planned to stop delaying looking at some new API and write myself a program for another game. For now merely a new thing added to the list of mind projects. Just that I'll be busy with some TPT computing stuff for a high speed computer project.
just one fact, no scientist has created life, and have not seen "good" mutations, only bad ones
I dont think any scientist has ever "created" life.
theytried to make single celled organisms and failed - the creationists were all giggling :D
