Hi everybody. I just made few bombs and a spark generator(actually, bombs are updates of previous save that I deleted). Spark generator is a bomb-like thing, but it's metal shell is full of sparks for about 10 or 15 seconds.
Now, I want to make a ARAY laser, but I have no idea how to do that. ARAY is not hot, and it only hits metal, and sparks it. I just ask myself is that possible to do.
Second option is photon laser. I saw that the community is full of them. How to make one. I tried something with filter and... Well, it HAD few major probles.
1. It wasn't hot!
2.One of six photons passed throught the filt.(I used clone. Is that the best way?)
3.But it was enough hot to change filter's colour.
I was desperate!
Help me please.

Heating up the photons usually doesn't come from the beam producer.The photons usually(in a photon laser at least) pass through something that's hot (or cold for that matter) or touch something that is. LIFE elements are often used to heat the photons,but there's other techniques.
Yes,clone is a good way to produce photons. It's normal as far as I know for photons to be wasted. If you want to limit the photon beams,use VOID to block off the extra beams.

Making a hot/cold ARAY laser for dummies:
Spark the ARAY with PSCN and set the TEMP of the aray to whatever temp you want. If you want it to spark add another ARAY beside it sparked by METL.
PHOT/NEUT/ELEC Laser
Use some sort of powered clone with ctype PHOT, then connect 2 wires of PSCN and NSCN to it. Cover the back end of the laser in a 4 pixel thick layer of INSL. Then make at least a 6 pixel long tube of void pointing towards the place where you want to shoot. Then add a hollow rectangle of VOID on both sides of the void tube (make sure it is at least 2 pixel thick) Inside the 2 hollow rectangles put a heating device (CLNE at 9999 K and ctype PLSM or a replicating life is useful) Then spark the PSCN to activate the laser. To make it NEUT make the beam go through INVS and BIZR to make the beam ELEC
about photon lasers. people have made a variety of methods of heating the powered clone (PCLN ctype PHOT) laser. without a heater mechanism the laser will never be more than 922 degrees. if you make a tube of VOID, DMND, or VACU then heat the outside of the tube somehow while the laser travels thru the tube. CLNE with ctype PLSM is a nice easy way to start.
You can convert PHOT to PROT by sending it through a tank of HYGN. You can then heat the PROT with normal laser methods.

i personally use a vacuum "tunnel" with clone mass producing photons and a thin element at the end(no more than 1 block wide) in the life section to really heat it up while its going trough it
