Depends. I like 2.7 better than 3.0 since you don't have to add brackets on every print function. But it's mostly your choice

Not in this case. Scons is written in python 2.x, you cannot run it in python 3.x -

Are you really arguing on how to get python? http://www.python.org/downloads/ is pretty damn straightforward and self-explanatory.

For the purpose of learning the fundamentals of logical methods, python is fine. I like it, and people like you should not discourage others to try it out :| not cool man -
