Suggestion: Speed adjustments

I think that there should be a Hotkey, or a command, or SOMEHTING to let you change how fast the sim. goes. I know it might be impossible to slow it down, without slowing the frame speed, but for fast forwarding (so to speak), you could change the settings so that each frame while it is faster is 2 frames in the normal speed. I know this doesn't make much sense when i type it, so think of it like this:

A "game frame" is how many frames the game WOULD go if it wasnt speeded(sped?) up.

In normal game speed, 1 f (frame) = 1 gf.

    In 2x game speed, 1 f - 2 gf.

    In 3x game speed, 1 f - 3 gf

    And so on.

This could allow for watching usually slow reactions and long, time wasting timers to be easier and more fun to make and use.

    I.E. Quartz growing in saltwater

Thanks for reading, and please leave what you think down

EDIT 1:"Time wasting timers" silly me. I meant to say, timers that take a long time... nevermind, you guys are smart enough to know what i mean. BTW, i was really tired today so the suggestion wasnt as great as it couldve been. Check my profile to see what i do here. ^^

    Nope.

Remember just how much TPT is calculating. Each particle, with its own temperature, velocity, etc. EVERY SINGLE FRAME. It's amazing it can go as fast as it does.

But if you have a supercomputer or something, you can use tpt.setfpscap(1000000) to set the maximum FPS.

I don't know about going slower.

SuperComputer? It requires that? Well I always thought I had a normal computer and that was a normal thing to use tpt.setfpscap(1000000)

But it normally never goes higher than the default max.

Doesn't really matter unless you have a supercomputer.

slower is easy, tap the F key

Oh it does that all the time so apparently not everyone here has a supercomputer which I had no idea I had. Wow....

Well, if you want to go slower, just type tpt.setfpscap(10) or something.

Probably not possible because tpt has to calculate every single thing happening to every single particle every single frame so going faster may be impossible. but this:

    tpt.setfpscap(1000)
Can make simulations that can run faster, run faster. To make it go slow, see johnfaber's post above.

Ok. But, if there IS any way to add a slider or something in simulation options, that would work well, maybe...

Has been suggested TONS of times by some stupid guys and its still not possible.

    Just not possible

If you put that "slider" up you will kill your CPU
