Element name: Ammonia
State: Liquid
Colour: Silvery-blue
Created by: 3 HYGN and 1 SMKE, if temperature is high (optionally: if sparked). Reaction doesn't happen when pressure is low.
Special: This reaction is endothermic, which means AMMN cools down rapidly shortly after it is created.
Other reactions: Under low pressure, it splits up into HYGN and SMKE again, heating up.
Uses: Realistic heat pumps.
Why do we need this?
Many people incorporate coolant systems in their saves. But these are often inefficient and very limited. Ammonia may be able to cool an area below the boiling temperature of water, and it possibly reduces the use of clnes. Also, this system can transfer heat from a cool area to a hot one. This allows the construction of, say, a refridgerator.
Well, we do have life, ambient heat, CFLM...
Life is a form of cheating, ambient heat destroys everything in it's way if not handled carefully, and CFLM can only provide sufficient cooling if alot of CLNEs are around.
Wait, real-life ammonia is made from nitrogen and hydrogen. So why SMKE and not LN2?
As I was saying, you need a hot environment to trigger the reaction. This would dissolve LN2 into nothing. Adding a gas state of LN2 would break many old saves (unless, of course, my compatibility mode idea becomes reality.)
Hasn't this been proposed already?
Yes, however, I wrote it before I knew the rules, and before I figured out precisely what I want.
Did I forget anything? Well, you know what you have to do.
Actually, a low temp. substance would help TPT.
I'm sure you could also make a power plant with this, I would like to see this added.
I love new elements that are well thought out and very unique. This element fits into that category; I fully support it. :)
gotta expect it, people have been "Needing" stickman stuff for ages, hopefully it will quieten it down for a while and not fan the flames..
