Bubbles were a possiblity of moving solids.

Fusion cycles don't seem to show any sort of uniqueness because we already have fusion. Also the fact they don't seem to have much priority towards a particular future idea. SOAP and CLAY were mostly tests for moving solids. Fusion cycles don't show much of a future expansion path.

I don't see anywhere on the site that says bubbles were a failed attempt. They were a way to test and foward the cause. They weren't a one shot "Now we hav movable solids". If you know what research is like, then you would understand the purpose.

We simply don't remove them because people still use them.

Now, why would I or anyone need refining? Couldn't we just use CONV in the first place to make these elements?

It;s definitely going to add some uses for the VACU element.these are just fine for me and allows a ton of new factories to come up. but apparently these won't be added unless it has more purposes that is unique to them...

But it's all fiery! Why should I? :(
Some of your reactions are legitimately good ideas, but be careful to rustle the jimmies of "breaks saves".

It seems that people very easily complain about a suggestion breaking saves, even if it is impossible for that to occur for that particular suggestion. When I suggested the burned wood graphics effect for extreme temperatures, someone complained that it would break saves.
