Snipa299 You just reiterated my idea lol. But as triclops and others said, it would be extremly hard and very tough to program the 3D engine into powder toy. But i do agree that it would be very cool to see in the distant future
Catelite Well not exactly, since the other layers will only be for specialized elements(aka electronics) so the full simulation will not be needed for it to run.(there was some old electronics-only clone of powder toy that ran on windows mobile phones, which obviously cant run the full powder toy.)
That and maybe some other reasons that i may not know, but yes it will slow it down, but not as much as another full powder toy per layer.
Unless some crazy optimization and multi threading stuff is going on. Marshead necro much?
Allow me to point out several facts: 1) Many people have independently thought of and suggested this. 2) There would be huge performance issues, even with threading 3)It would require a large rewrite It is a good idea(why so many people have suggested it), but it would be too hard to implement. Even with the bonuses of being able to attach displays to processors and allowing huge processor components, it would require a large amount of work.
