Big difference there is that we only know of carbon based life forms. There is no source of carbon in the void of space, so any animals without need of a spaceship would already be completely unlike anything we ave ever known of.

A non-carbon based life form would be freaking cool.

There's alot "greater amounts of organisms" in the visible universe....which contains more than 500 billion galaxies.
