    that can't be true. the speed limit of the universe is the speed of light. it is impossible to go faster.

    No. The speed of light is the "speed limit" of matter within the space of our universe. However, the universe does not expand into space as we know it, infact it isnt expanding into anything. So there is no refeence point, and normal laws dont apply. So it is quite possible that the universe expands >c
