TPT++

Hi I've been playing TPT for about 1.5 years (since around version 40). There have been many updates which have ruined aspects of the game, such as compression. However in my opinion the worst by far has been TPT++.

I know that many people like it but I however don't. Version 83.9 was decent because I could still use the old and stable TPT to play. Now with version 84 I can't. I have tried jacob1's mod but it barely improves anything, and most of the things that I loathe about TPT++ are still in it. For example, the annoying new save interface with the blurred thumbnails and outdated look.

I don't really care about any of the new features and elements added, their novelty wears off quickly. So why should I have to update to play with things I don't like or want?

My question is why can't there be a version of TPT that retained the look and feel of it but was still compatible with TPT++?

I works, but it doesn't give me the features I want. It is too similar to TPT++. Also TPT++ is very unstable for me and constantly crashes and/or freezes. Regular TPT never did that once for me.

Can you be more specific regarding what you dislike about the save interface ("annoying", "outdated look")?

it's too similar to tpt++? So you don't like comment scrolling, longer comments, and other things?
Is it the deco editor then? Mine is almost the same as tpt's, and I think it's an improvement. I didn't change the save browser interface at all in my mod.

Can you name specific things you don't like then maybe? The longer the list, the better. Either tpt++, or both.

And i'd like to say that since version 84.0, any new thumbnails render horribly in tpt (including my mod). They are actually better in tpt++ now.

And I fixed the tpt++ crashes I saw, but Simon didn't merge in the fixes because of a minor memory leak or something

You actually can save publically. Try the latest version, it's easier to understand how. Save as current name might not work though.

The thumbnails have become blurred, making it hard to tell what the save actually is. Also the colours and layout of the new interface making it hard to read and use (for me atleast).

Both TPT++ and your mod have some extreme instability on my computer. I barely get to use it for 5 minutes before it crashes, freezes or glitches. Your deco is fine jacob1 but I don't like having it as a drop-down menu, it constantly gets in the way.

The game seems to have more bugs and glitches than old TPT. The colours from the new version sometimes give me eyestrain and headaches. Overall I prefer TPT for the stability, ease of access and simplicity.

I don't know why the thumbnails are blurry, it's probably something to do with the sizes and stuff. Maybe Simon or jacksonmj would know.

The interface is now not just completely white. I guess you don't like that then...

The thumbnail thing seems like an ok reason, but maybe Simon would know how to fix it. I've noticed that the save boxes are a different size in tpt++ (I think), and maybe it can't convert it to the right size.

I don't understand what's wrong with my mod though, or why you don't want to use it. Jacksonmj might compile another version of his version.

In the future, I might add a button to give back the old interface, but I don't know when i'll do that.

Your mod is perfectly fine, most of the time. There are a few things I don't like such as the new categories and elements being moved from one section to another. If TPT doesn't become compatible with the newer versions I will use your mod since I prefer it to TPT++.

ok. I was thinking of moving the things back to the right categories, and using a lua script to fix it only for me. I think I moved SWCH to powered and DMND to special.

So, hopefully I can get that old interface button to work. I might add options, so you can only revert back parts, or by then, everyone might be used to it so it would be pointless.

That would be nice if you could turn off and customise things. If you could do that I would use your mod all the time.
