    About the human intelligence thing:

the reason we have intelligenct is because opposable thumbs. this meas we only need one hand to pick stuff up. The animals would also need opposeable thunbs to dominate us.

I believe one of our biggest threats would be other primates... They could use our weapons (although not as easily, because generally they have smaller thumbs). While they would be one of the bigger threats, they still would be at a significant disadvantage... They hardly have a stockpile of our weapons. They would just prove to be the biggest nuisance of all.

Laws would begin to pop up everywhere protecting the lives of sentient beings.. I wouldn't be surprised if the population had to become vegetarian... But even that has a problem. The animals are smart, so they will target our vegetation supply, crippling our food source. They would probably target locations that would impact our economy on a massive scale - this would take some time unless they managed to handle all of our technology successfully... But this is assuming they all come to the same conclusions as to how to kill us.

Another major threat is the birds. I don't know if any of you have seen the movie by the title of The Birds, but that movie shows how defenceless we are to birds... And there is no way to kill all of the birds without killing ourselves.

The end result: We would probably end up retrieting under ground, having been outnumbered. Life would never be the same, even if we could continue to control the animals.

You are forgetting the entire primate group.
Opposable thumbs didn't come around because of our thumbs... Our opposable thumbs, along with other primate thumbs came around as an adaptation to a tree dwelling lifestyle.

There are some ape species that have a very close level of intelligence to us. A main factor in our power is our ability to communicate verbally... However there is one species (Bonobo) that can verbally communicate with each other...

We do have the technology to beat them, but we're WAY down in the numbers. Even a group of termites can demolish a building, now that they know exactly which part of the building to eat.

One would also have to consider the relationship between the animals. If (some) humans kill each other because of skin colour and/or gender, think of what the animals will do to each other... They would probably end up killing themselves before they wipe us out. Besides, they can't all eat humans... they would have to eat each other, as they do now (apart from the herbivores, of course).

Humans would probably destroy the planet before we lose it to the animals.

Knowing the ways the humans think, if the animals go at war with us, everything on the planet will be dead and irradiated in a matter of days.

    Disaster.

    NEW QUESTION:

What if gravity suddenly dissapeared on Earth? Could we survive by any means?
