    Grab your phone and listen to music via it with headphones. You can watch and listen to youtube videos on any smartphone, really.

Web browsers usually are memory expensive too, I'd rather prefer 20 MB of memory for Foobar2000 than 600MB memory for Firefox when I play a game. It's mostly a matter of ease and usage patterns...

    It really isn't a problem with YouTube and Powder Toy, it's more of a speed issue. Have your browser closed and a nice sleek music player playing some internet radio, best of both worlds - no need to 'download' music and you get a better TPT experience.
