Auto lock

Since there seems to be an increasing number of necros lately I say that threads that are older than say a year should be automatically locked. It would just stop a lot of craziness on the site.

Usally when that happens, it's just a new user who doesn't know what they are doing. They either learn that they are doing a bad thing and stop or temporary get banned....

Plus, if the thread automaticly got locked, no one could explain to them that what they are doing isn't good, and they'll do it more, causing more necros

Oh... I see what you're saying...

Idk, I don't think it's too serious to do that yet, it's not like we see groups of people gathering together for the sole purpose of necroing threads.

And if they say, necropost eleven months after the previous post...

An hour of ban for every day since the original post? Sounds like a good idea to me.

I remember I necroed a few times when I was new, I would read all the threads, and go back page by page, and impulsively respond to something interesting i read. Most of the necroes these days seem to be on purpose like: (Hey guys look what I found from 3 years ago hurrr durrr). what Im getting at is that necroes that seem to be by accident or mistake should be a slap on the wrist, while purposeful ones like the latter should be a longer b&, although in the end, it really is up to the mods when it comes to b&ing members.

Admittedly, while it is sort of against rules to necro, there's no point in preventing people from doing so. It's kind of fun, I think. :P

OFF TOPIC: I got an idea, what if there was a criminal record on every users page? cool right, not specific posts, but rather what rules they broke and how many times they did so, this could lead to extended sentences for repeat offenders and stuff. should i move this to feedback?
