Since the introduction of the Decor Layer.

TPT is a particle simulator, not an art program. The decor layer was originally so you could cover up electronics and such so people could see the working simulation. Not for people to floodfill diamond and pretend it's a paint program.

Protesting against mods doesn't work here: https://powdertoy.co.uk/Discussions/Thread/View.html?Thread=11237 , sadly. I would protest too, but it wont help.

Well your obviously not enforcing that rule very well, as art like that gets front page everyday. Because people recognise the effort put into the thing. I seriously think it's wrong to reject them just because powder toy "Isn't a art program huh duh." I also seriously think that many powder toy users would agree with me.

We don't care. It's not what TPT was designed for. The deco layer wasn't even designed for art. It was designed to cover electronics. And most art that makes front page is kicked off.

Well done, you managed to quote almost exactly what Xenocide said. Thanks for clarifying. But as much as you guys hate to admit it, art HAS become part of powder toy. You can't control that. Because it's not like the decoration layer is ever used just for covering electronics. Also, if you don't care it doesn't give you the right to speak for everyone.

If enough people were against this rule. Would it be changed?

Even if it was designed only to cover electronics, why it can't be used to make something different? A lot of things designed by men found a new better usage than it was originaly planned. If powder toy can be a good drawing program, why you can't let it happen? It still can be a good particle simulator even if art will be in it.

And why keep kicking my saves out of the front page if most of people say that they deserve to be there?

Just a thought, but would it be possible to have a tab on frontpage that let you choose to view on of two front pages. One for art and one for particle simulating stuff like electronics. The one for art could be smaller than the other since there are less art saves than all the other saves combined. Personally, I don't care if art is allowed on fp or not, since I'm not that good at it, but I think this may let everyone be happy, since you have you're fp where people can view art, and your fp where it's not allowed. To decide which one a save belongs in, there could be 2 buttons that you could press when u publish a save for the first time; one that says says art and one that says other.

Alternatively, another compromise might be that you allow art, but only art that doesn't use the deco layer. In other words, it used the elemts natural coloring and other colors they can get without the deco layer (ex. hot metl-red, green filt, ect.). What do you think?
