Element Suggestion: Cadmium

    Cadmium [CADM] (Electronics)
Instantly conducts, Can be used in conjunction with METL and SOAP to make a rechargeable battery. Melts at 321C.

    Uses:
    -Destroyable instant conductor.
    -Makes rechargeable batteries possible.
-Treated as a metal, so INWR doesnt conduct to/from it.

In real life, a NiCd battery cell has a nickel hydroxide anode and a cadmium cathode separated by potassium hydroxide. Since TPT doesn't have NiOH or KOH, I was thinking that the KOH could be substituted for SOAP, since that's the closest thing TPT has to KOH. The NiOH could be substituted for METL.

    Anyways, here's my theory:

When SOAP is continuously SPRK'ed by METL, the SOAP is given a life variable that increases by 1 every frame, simulating charging. The SOAP will pass SPRK to any CADM touching it after 6 frames of not being SPRK'ed by METL. SPRK will be conducted every frame until the life of SOAP reaches 0.

If SOAP wouldn't work, then maybe it's time for that BASE element people keep suggesting?

INST used to be rechargible battery actually, it would absorb sparks and send them back out when activated.

Also, elements aren't usually added because people want them. Some elements are begged for often enough and never made. :P

@Catelite I'm aware of this, but I figured I'd just put it out there. :P

Why are all the good reactions now obsolete? This is like the 4th element suggestion thread that I have read that has a moderator/developer commenting about how something utilized the same idea a while ago to make a nice reaction but it was now non-existent. Every time is a mini-loss in my mind, knowing how cool it would be to still have those reactions. (No I'm not going to post a link to the other threads, I don't have all day, well technically I do but it will not be used towards linking.)

I think it needs more properties to increase the number of uses.

I like the life Idea, but I'm thinking that that may mess up some saves with soap and metl... mebbie a different conducting substance?

Another possible use would be a neutron/electron absorber. When electrons hit it, they would be absorbed by the cadmium, but would not spark the cadmium. I'm basing this off of cadmium's real life use as a control rod material in nuclear reactors.

Neutrons are already absorbed by Titanium, but electron absorption might be good

This adds a couple of new features to the game, which can not be replicated via any other element.

So devs, why can't you put this in?

Glass already absorbs Electrons (granted in a rather dramatic way, but still) ;D
