What is the most complex machine ever made using GOL here on TPT? After reading up on all the different variations of GOL in the wiki, I was also wondering if the different spin-offs of the original TPT GOL could work in conjunction with each other, essentially creating semi-complex machines. I am already visualizing a step by step design for a semi-complex GOL randomizer, but there is still much to be discovered on how GOL behaves and interacts with itself.

GOL is sort of arcane for most users. That's practically something only like, half the game devs understand. XD

I know Cracker has made some machines, and I saw someone using GOL machines as part of a spark maze.

I had been working with the life cycle of a group of GOL for quite a few frames, and I figured out a basic pattern a while ago. I think I could have made something cool out of it but my computer died, cutting my experiment's short. I think I was onto something very interesting. Also at that time I was working on an authentic Fiber Optics Cable. I have so many unfinished ideas.

this could be interesting for you if you want to know more about GOL elements. there are very complex machines made with GOL but i think most of them are made with only one rule.

    Thanks for the information.

This is an interesting picture. It says "Wire World" in the top bar enclosing the name of the project that is currently opened. Does this have any relevance to our Wire World? What is Wire World anyways? Time to visit Wikipedia again.

I'm not exactly sure what it is, but I think that it's kind of a simulator for electrical gates. It's simple in concept but can be used to make complex things(I think). That is the wire world that the wires in the elctronic menu are based off of (that much I know for sure). You could prob find tutorials for making certain things with it if you wanted, by googleing it.

Yes, that is exactly the WIRE in powder toy.

You can make the same machines with GoL, but they are MUCH larger (and don't fit in powder toy).

    Wow that's amazing.
