Why not just build an anti personnel mine? I have built a type of explosive device that is suspended in the air, and when a pressure plate is activated, it sends a signal up to the top of the explosive, priming it for detonation. Since my computer is broken I can't put a link to a picture, but I can describe its unique functions. So anyways, when the plates are activated the tnt is set to go off, but since the tnt is suspended in the air, it gives the explosive shockwave a greater field of destruction, rather than traditional buried tnt, which only has an explosive field that goes upwards, and most of its explosion is masked by the surrounding ground particles. Its a hard concept to understand unless you know the relative strength of each different type of block in relation to a piece of detonated tnt, but trust me, I have tested the method many times over and it is a proven method that works every time. Since the tnt is suspended in the air, the key of the method is to keep it there until the very last moment in which it goes off. Since it is held in the air it gives the explosion a far greater blast radius. To keep the explosion strong enough, I use stacked signs in a single block space vertically escalating in height, until I get either 4-5 blocks high of those. Then I put a single block of glas on top of the signs. Then I put the tnt on top of that. Since the signs and glas are the easiest to break in the game, the work great to hold the piece of tnt up without diminishing the blast radius and its power. This may be confusing, but it is the best method for destruction. Plus, if you build the tnt platform high enough, the blast only goes far enough to destroy everything just above the ground, so the blast kills everything around the platform without destroying the ground. This is a great invention considering many people don't like having huge craters all around their house. So far my only designs include manual detonation with flint and steel. I am working on wire systems to be used as a form of remote detonation, but so far I have only put about two hours into researching it.

    TL:DR?

Put your TNT above ground. Better destruction.

    What is TL:DR?

Yeah that's what I said, putting tnt above ground suspended in the air creates a better explosive radius.

AKA an annoying way to say "This text is too hard to read, it has all those fancy squiggly lines I can't understand"

I would be way too lazy to manually reset it every time. What about a moat that has a TNT dispenser? When it explodes, it only deals damage and resets with a flick of a button.

Yeah. Actually building the device doesn't take too long. I am also working on a device that encases a monster in it, and at the same time activates a tnt bomb. That way it cannot escape the tnt explosion. I have also perfected a Latice work of mines that all go off in a pattern, but leave the other surrounding pressure plates and tnt untouched, so as not to accidentally set off all of the mines in the field all at once without reason. I will try to take a picture and get it on image shack.
