How can TPT be a virus?

it can be, it contains code that downloads and runs binaries (even twice), antivirus doesn't know what is downloaded, so it thinks about the worst

I have AVG, but it doesn't consider TPT, Google Chrome and crap as viruses. (I have default settings, AVG must love me <3)

This is exactly what anti-virus is supposed to warn about, nothing wrong there.  Anything you download from the internet 'could' be a threat.  If it updated from tpt itself, or got it from the main download page, just hit allow, it is doing its job.  I use Avast! and it does this as well every update.

I use avast and it has never warned me about TPT. I do have my Heuristic sensitivity on Normal rather than the higher setting though.

Go somewhere into the settings and turn off "When threat is found, [delete/quarantine]", make it so that it asks you on what to do.
