The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard. It’s a capable little PC which can be used for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games. It also plays high-definition video. We want to see it being used by kids all over the world to learn programming.
@Simon(View Post) Yeah I had to sign up and "display interest" in it when they were first released. A month later I got an email that informed me that I could preorder, so I did. I got an email a week or two ago informing me that it was to come no later than June.
BTW, the board costs 35$. hdmi cable, mouse, keyboard, and a hi capacity SD card totals at about $80 (and other acessories)
Also I wouldn't count on getting one anytime soon. A LOT of people have preorders in and the 2 sites that sell these will take a long time to catch up with the demand. I preordered a long time ago...
I have ordered one, and TPT compiles on my debian build which will be running on my raspberry but does not run. I think im missing packages so im looking into it.
(IT WILL BE SLOW THOUGH!)
If you use OS's like android and fedora, its unlikely to work at all.
