To add Plastic or to not?

to add Plastic or to not? that is the question. ( I KNOW THAT IT HAS BEEN SUGGESTED SO MANY TIMES)

I think that it is important to add plastic because it is used in every product of the present.

I have gathered all the information about useful plastics below

    -High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) ( B E S T )

HDPE is extremely economical and usually approved by the FDA for food products. It has a good moisture barrier and is impact resistant. HDPE is translucent in its natural state, but may have colorant added. It is compatible with a wide range of products including acids but not solvents. When flame treated it is an excellent choice for silk-screening. It cannot stand up to hot fill of over about 160 degrees.

    -Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) ( O K A Y )

LDPE is similar to HDPE but its less molecular structure renders it less chemically resistant. It is more translucent and is used mainly for squeeze applications. The price is usually higher than HDPE for the same type of container,

    -Polypropylene (PP) ( G O O D )

PP is manufactured by an injection molding process, which yields a container with contact clarity and an excellent moisture barrier. It is stable at high temperatures up to 200 degrees. It has excellent chemical resistance but poor impact resistance in cold temperatures.

You will probably only be using these, because other plastics aren't strong enough or have a very very low melting point.

PP is a symbol for PhenolPhtoleine - low acidity detector

your right therocketeer, but do you think Plastic should be added?

I like your detailed description on plastic, but the thing you must make very clear on any suggestion thread are the uses. This ensures that your idea has purpose in the game and gives it a higher chance of being added. I personally don't think we need plastic, it can be achieved through a combination of various other elements.

There are many uses for plastics

    - can be used as an insulator
    - impact resistance protects substances from high pressures and bomb impacts (like bullet proof armour/tank armour)
    - Can change the color of the light/bend light
    - Keeps substances hot/cold
    - Can be moulded to form any shape
    - Traps air/moisture(steam) P.S. IN THE REAL WORLD THIS PROPERTY IS USED TO KEEP FOOD FRESH
    - keeps flammable substances safe (unless you use flammable plastic)
-Some Plastics have the properties of rubber (flammable/water resistance)

AND MORE... :) (I LISTED SOME BECAUSE PLASTICS CAN BE USED FOR ALL SORTS OF THINGS)

I have a plastic in my mod, but really it's just a blue building material, and quite useless (apart from making bouncing balls)

Aren't those what (in order) INSL, TTAN, GLAS/QRTZ/FILT, HSWC, GOO(?), (any solid)/SPNG, (any non-flammable solid at least 2px thick), (Rubber would be ineffective, slowing down can be done by DCEL) do?
Also, shameless advertisement of a small list of the various disallowed elements! Just Ctrl+F and you'll find what you need!

boxmein could you make your comments a lot more easier to read because i can't understand what you are trying to say

P.S. I don't think you should put plastic on your rejected list just because its made out of oil. not all plastics are made from oil.
