    1. could you add a fast forward button, next to the pause button? just press it and it speeds everything up

    2. can someone explain to me why you cant make 1-pixel thin walls? like the e-wall and the detector. the problem i have with the walls is that they take up too much space. they are too big and you cant place them as precisely as i want them.

    3. is the powder toy related to 'dust' at all? if they arent they are VERY similar. just search dust on google and you will see it.

    thanks

    The fps is limited.

Pressure is calculated on the 4x4 grid to prevent lag. You can make detectors smaller than walls with ARAY and an NOT gate.

A fast-foward button won't likely ever be added, until some time has passed and the game can run fast enough on most people's computers that trying to speed up the game would even have a significant difference.

@dulix11 (View Post) the game "dust" is actually called the powder game, and it is a better version of falling sand, written in java, and played online.  if you go to the home page on TPT, it says that the powder toy is "a desktop version of the classic 'falling sand game'", which is basically a desktop version of the powder game/falling sand game written in  c/c++ (i think), and it has alot better elements and graphics.  so technically, all the particle simulators are related and may seem very alike.
(sorry for bad and confusing grammar)

TL;DR: TPT already updates as fast as possible, speeding up will mean waiting for it to update the frames and then displaying them, meaning you'd need framebuffers to hold the updated frames etc, bringing the overall speed of the game down.
