For What ever reason, I have noticed that the Additions to TPT are limited in some ways due to an Increase in TPT.EXE 's size.
This is a Powder sim, with Air pressure and velocity, Heat, and Newtonian Gravity smashed down to the size of not quite a megabyte. I would download this if it were larger.
I don't think the file size is limiting anything, the reason faster gravity calculations weren't added was because it didn't work on older computers, but it has been fixed by now I think.
Also, the size of the powder toy was already reduced by a lot somehow. Version 7 of my mod is about 3x larger than version 8 is (1.3mb), so they have a lot of room to add more stuff before the powder toy gets up to the size it used to be.
Edit: I also wouldn't mind if the file size was larger, but 25mb might be a little too large. I don't know what would ever make it that large anyway.
Features are mostly limited by the small number of people contributing to development, and the fact that more features generally means the game runs slower. There's no point in adding a feature that makes the game unusably slow.
@jacksonmj(View Post) I'm not too bothered about the executable size, it's the crash on previous versions of Windows (pre-Vista) that is preventing it from being enabled.
It was one of the reasons I wasn't too sure about adding FFT. Python was a major issue, it would have added 10MB to the executable size, and I have to pay for bandwidth, every time we push a new update, hundreds of thousands of people download the update, a 10MB update would not be a good idea.
