Otherwise the recipe for thermite is 1 part of oxidated iron (known as rust) on 1 part of aluminium (ACCORDING TO WEIGHT, e.g 50 grams of aluminium on 50 grams of oxidated iron (too lazy to look up the density). Preparing: file and then mix the powders well. Ignite it with some magnesium since it needs a high temperature to ignite. After you ignited it, run like hell since it's gonna get extremely hot. Since I haven't worked with thermite too much i'm not too sure how to trim it up but it's still pretty awesome :) -

I don't think it would work, since some of those elements need a high temperature to ignite. What you would do it mix all those in a tennis ball, put a bit of black powder ( Homemade or not ) near the hole and then put a fuse. The black powder should burn hot enough to burn more of the chemicals, plus throwing burning chemicals all around.
Be careful though, you wouldn't want something on fire to land on your house's roof. ( True Story... ) -
@lillepallt, your mostly right, but the compound will still work even if you screw with the measurements a little bit :P
@jenn4, there are special ways of buying such materials, thermite being one that you will only need a signature for (in most cases). I also have "accsess" to liquid nitrogen, for "testing" purposes only ;P -
