Since FLIR thermal cameras can have their exposure either manually set, or autoset, or full dynamic range, I think one should be able to set the thermal view mode of the powder toy.
Full Dynamic Range: Dark Blue = coldest possible TPT temperature, Pink = hottest possible TPT temperature (the same way it has always been in TPT)
Autorange: Dark Blue = coldest point on the image, Pink = hottest point on the image
Manual: Dark Blue = minimum displayed temp set in a dialog box, Pink = hottest displayed temp set in a dialog box
Also a selectable Palette for thermal mode would be nice. Current used palette in TPT is called Rainbow by FLIR. Other common palettes used in the thermal camera industry are Blackbody: gradient starting at Black, and going through Red, Orange, Yellow, and ending at White Ironbow: gradient starting at Black, and going through Blue, Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, and ending at White White Hot: Linear gradient from black to white Black Hot: Linear gradient from white to black
Also (in addition to selecting palettes) one should be able to select the range of used temperatures like a user-set setting that would let you type max and min temps to display. For example make any temperature below 1000C show as min temperature (dark blue in default palette), and any temperature over 2000C show as hottest temperature (reddish pink in the default palette). Also it should be possible for the user to set a setting that would allow TPT to autodetect the range to use, whereby the hottest temperature currently onscreen would automatically be mapped to the hottest thermal palette color, and the coldest temperature currently onscreen would automatically be mapped to the coldest thermal palette color.
@cctvdude99(View Post) I think that this would be pretty cool, and as for it having no uses, well, do any of the displays have uses? By that argument we mind as well get rid of all the displays except for one...
Actually I KNOW there is a heat mode. I'm talking about options in the options menu that would allow me to change how the heat display shows the heat. There are many ways that the heat display mode itself could be altered by options, to use different color palettes, etc.
