It's still a laser, the beam is out the visible spectrum of light, so we don't percept it with our eyes. -

It would, you just wouldn't see it until it melts your face off. In theory, if a gamma ray laser was created in real life, it would be completely invisible other than the massive super heated explosions caused by gamma rays ionizing matter. -
